LVIS Gardiner Brown House

The present home of the LVIS is the Gardiner Brown House at 95 Main Street. The historic house was built in 1740 by David Gardiner and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

LVIS Grounds & Sunken Garden

The Gardiner Brown house was inherited by Winthrop Gardiner Sr. in 1924. Over ten years he moved the house 275 ft back from the street to its present location leaving an impressive front lawn that is home to our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Summer Fair.

The Octagon Dollhouse

A 5’4” tall replica of an 1892 house built in 1980 by Noel Thomas for LVIS member, Deborah Light. She donated it to LVIS in 1999, and over the years the Dollhouse Committee has added special details.
