SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

In 2009 eight outstanding East Hampton young men and women were selected by the Student Awards Committee to receive $10,000 each toward their college tuition. In addition, one student received $5,000 for use at a two-year college. Destinations of these students include Villanova, Emerson College, Lehigh University, Wesleyan University, the University of North Carolina  Wilmington, Loyola College, Dartmouth and Suffolk Community College.

The Madelon DeVoe Talley Scholarship of $3,000 is given to an East Hampton woman 25 years or older who wants to return to college for a degree. The 2008 recipient is Judy Clempner. She currently attends St. Joseph's College and intends to pursue a career in education. The 2009 winner will be announced in the fall.
